I am a self-taught jewelry artist. I work primarily in silver and precious stones, but I have included as diverse materials as slate, fossils, copper rivets, rubber, silk, fiberglass, and feathers in my works. I am available for comission, fees are variable depending on the complexity of a piece. I specialize in custom religious and devotional jewelry, knives, and holloware. All religions welcome, no matter how far outside the mainstream.
I'm also a member of the Patuxent Lapidary Guild and the Society of North America Goldsmiths. The latter, I'm proud to say, has recently begun lobbying the precious metals industry to begin ensuring that gold is being mined and refined in conditions which are safe and environmentally sustainable, by workers who are fairly compensated. And of course I support the Kimberly Process for reducing market penetration of blood- and drug-diamonds, but more recently I have decided to stop using natural (mined) dimonds entirely in favor of lab-created ones. There is effectively no chance of the man-made stones having been the source of socio-politico-economic strife (unlike even Kimberly diamonds, which only garantee a paper trail), and the cost is infinitely more reasonable. |
